LAYERS AND LIGHT

This garden offered little more than a vast stretch of lawn, an unremarkable patio, and a smattering of plants. It’s one redeeming feature was an extraordinary view, wide, open, and full of potential. The redesign began with a focus on framing and celebrating that view while transforming the rest of the space into something that feels vibrant, purposeful, and welcoming.

Generous new planting beds now bring structure and softness to the garden, adding height, movement, and year-round interest while supporting biodiversity. A dedicated seating area creates a natural resting spot to take in the views, while a new kitchen garden and discreet composting area help with a more engaging space. The patio was enlarged and re-laid with the correct gradient to improve both its use and appearance.

A newly planted driveway and front garden brings colour and character to the entrance, offering a sense of arrival and a more inviting welcome home. What was once a blank canvas is now a layered and responsive space—designed not only to complement its setting, but to offer a richer, more connected experience of home and nature.
