DESIGN PROCESS

1.

INITIAL CONSULTATION

A site visit is arranged to meet you and visit your garden so we can understand your aims, ambitions and requirements, and establish any limitations of the site. This consultation is followed up by a written brief outlining your objectives alongside our fee proposal.

2.

CONCEPT PLAN

Once the brief is agreed, a topographical survey of your site will be undertaken to establish a layout of your site to scale, including levels, services, floor plans, boundaries, and tree canopies. An initial 2D concept plan is then produced along with mood boards and material suggestions.

3.

MASTER PLAN

A final master plan is developed from the concept plan, accommodating any feedback or changes. 2D and 3D master plans will be produced to show spatial arrangements, material choices and planting palettes. Initial costings can be derived from these plans.

4.

TECHNICAL DESIGN

Once the master plan has been agreed, the technical design can be developed - a landscaper will work from this to build your garden. It will specify where lighting, ducting and drainage is to be positioned, and will be needed by a Structural Engineer, if you’re using one. Clear, comparable pricing can be obtained against the technical pack.

5.

PLANTING PLAN

Planting is the icing on the cake; it gives your garden its feel and sense of space. A planting plan will show the location of every tree or plant, imagery of each specimen alongside sizes and quantities for each variety. This plan is essential for setting out the plants and costings.

6.

QUOTATIONS & SITE VISITS

At this stage we send out the plans to contractors to quote for the installation. We can recommend experienced contractors who will install your design with the right skill sets for your project, but you may wish to use your own. Regular site visits will be carried out during the installation process to ensure the integrity of the design is upheld, agree any changes, and keep to schedule.

7.

SETTING OUT & PLANTING

Once the build is complete, Katy will personally set out the plants ready for planting by a soft landscaping team. Maintenance schedules can be supplied once planting is complete.
