CARBON NEUTRAL HOUSE, SURREY HILLS

This family home is set within 4 acres of the Surrey Hill’s AONB, with far reaching views across the South Downs.  Good Grounding led on the landscape proposal and concept design which was considered with ecological enhancement in mind, working with and maximising on the existing biodiversity, whilst delivering an aesthetically pleasing scheme placing the architecture into its setting.

The southerly aspect features a generous terrace with a shallow reflecting pool, low growing perennials, hedging and grasses with steps leading to the lower lawns. The northerly aspect was designed as a restful courtyard including a water feature to support aquatic, bird, bat and insect life.  The garden was designed for simplicity and calm, a style which compliments the simple elegance of the architecture.
